Umm Al Quwain Beach Hotel required a window treatment solution that felt at home in its coastal setting — warm, natural, and in keeping with the relaxed character of one of the UAE's quieter northern emirates. Wooden blinds were the clear specification: the natural timber grain adds texture and warmth that no synthetic material replicates, while the slatted design offers precise light control suited to both guest rooms facing the water and internal public areas.
The project covered multiple guest rooms and key shared spaces throughout the hotel — each window measured, fabricated, and installed by our team to exact fit with no gap at the frame edges.
All blinds were delivered on a coordinated schedule to minimise disruption to hotel operations and guest stays, with installation phased across areas based on room occupancy.

What made this project specific
Salt-air and humidity exposure
Beachfront properties present a harsher environment than standard interiors. All timber was treated with a UV-resistant and anti-humidity sealant to protect against the coastal conditions unique to UAQ's waterfront location.
Matching across multiple room types
A hotel installation requires a consistent look across varied window sizes and orientations. All blinds were fabricated to the same finish and tilt mechanism specification to ensure visual uniformity across every guest room.
Installing around hotel operations
Rooms could not be taken out of service simultaneously. We coordinated a phased installation schedule with hotel management, completing each room within a defined access window and returning it to service before the next phase began.
Direct sunlight management
Beachside rooms experience intense direct sun for extended periods. Slat width and tilt angle were specified to allow maximum light diffusion without generating heat gain at the glass — keeping rooms comfortable without relying solely on AC.

Teak-finish real wood was chosen specifically to complement the coastal interior palette — warm enough to read as natural, neutral enough to work across all room orientations and light conditions throughout the day.
